What is Tenderfoot Camp?
Ready to start your very OWN camping adventure? Grab your flashlight and come to Tenderfoot camp! Tenderfoot campers experience many of H.U.G. Camp’s favorite adventures. Campers also enjoy arts and crafts and nature activities. Of course your camping experience would not be complete without a campfire and s’mores. Tenderfoot camp is a great 3-day, 2-night introduction, that allows first time campers to enjoy all the highlights of H.U.G. Camp at Tower Hill! Who goes to camp? Children completing kindergarten, first, second, or third grades. When to come. When to go. Registration and bunk assigning starts at 12 noon (1 p.m. Michigan time) Camper pick-up is at 9:30 a.m. (10:30 a.m. Michigan time) Where are you located? Tower Hill Camp and Retreat Center, Sawyer, MI Cabin is located in the Del Schrag Retreat Center What is the cost to attend? $164 for two nights and three days, including meals, snacks How do I register? Leadership
Tom March is the Director of Tenderfoot Camp. He has been a counselor at H.U.G. Camp for a number of years and currently works full time for the YMCA. Attached is an article that talks about some of the amazing work Tom has done with the YMCA. Staff
There are a number of staff that assist with Tenderfoot Camp in addition to the Tower Hill full time summer staff. Many staff have backgrounds in teaching. The rest of the staff info will be updated when it becomes available. |
